Pray for us!

We know God has plans for our lives. He has brought us together with our unique testimonies to share with others the gospel of Jesus Christ.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear." 1Peter 3:15

Supernaturally-Powered

As a child, I spent many hours reading comic books or watching cartoons about superheroes. It seems like I have always been lured to the powers possessed by Spiderman, Superman, or any of the X-Men, and that is just to name a few. From the earliest age I would tie a towel around my neck and pretend I could fly. I have fond memories (and a few pictures to prove it) of dressing up like my superhero of choice on each and every Halloween. (I never really cared for monsters.)
Decades have passed and I am still  infatuated with the extraordinary powers displayed by comic characters or movies that have powerful heroes fighting against evil. I guess you can say that I love it when the good guys win.
I say all of that to say this:
We have supernatural power!
No, I am not going crazy or living in a fantasy world. I speak the truth.
My authority? The Word of God. The Holy Bible.
Jesus said in Acts 1:8, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit shall come upon you..."
What God did on the Day of Pentecost was dramatic and very powerful. God by His Spirit enabled ordinary men and women (like you and me)  to do and say things beyond their natural ability. They became supernaturally empowered. There was no explanation for what was taking place.
I've got some incredible news for you: The same power is available for us as believers today.
God lives inside us!
1John 2:14 "You are strong, and the Word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one."
(We win!)
1John 4:4 "Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world"
If you are a child of God, you are a new creature- powered by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all the joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

So, know this and be empowered by this fact: As we live out our days in this life, and we come upon trials and tribulations (and the bad guys), we are not alone. We have been given the Spirit of Truth, the Great Comforter, the Encourager, the Helper, the Spirit of God living inside of us.
Don't quench the Spirit. He forever intercedes for us in our prayers. He guides us in paths of righteousness to do God's will.
How can we know we are in God's will under full control of His power?
Read His Word. Listen. Pray.
"The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God." Romans 8:16
I no longer have to pretend to be someone with special abilities. I have the power of the Holy Spirit living inside of me, and that, most importantly, includes the gift of God- salvation- eternal life!
All I can say is...WOW!
I am a sinner. But Jesus, holy and perfect died in my place, so I could have His power and be with Him forever. If that sounds unbelievable, extraordinary, supernatural...IT IS! That is why God alone could do it. That's why it's called Amazing Grace!

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (that's a lot!), according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen!" Ephesians 3:20-21

And one day I will be with Him for ever, and ever, and ever...Amen!
