Pray for us!

We know God has plans for our lives. He has brought us together with our unique testimonies to share with others the gospel of Jesus Christ.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear." 1Peter 3:15

Be Still

Galveston & Houston, Texas, are in the path of hurricane Ike, and as the waters rise, people (and their pets) scurry to seek higher ground.
Again? Another hurricane? Americans must be asking these questions as they consider the devastation that is seemingly making it's home on America's coastlines. I am reminded of Jesus asleep in the boat with His disciples and a major storm raging.
He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow! Doesn't that give us comfort?
Jesus knew the storm was coming. He knew because He is the Creator. God in the flesh was asleep during this tempest because nothing takes Him by surprise. He is always in control.
"And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, 'Master, master, we perish.' Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm."
"And he said unto them, 'Where is your faith?' And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. "
He spoke and the world was created. So, when He spoke- the storm ceased.
Never doubt the Savior of the Universe.
Nothing is impossible with God.
*Our friends, the Gibsons, have evacuated their Houston home.
With this storm they may lose everything, but as they have just told me in an email,
"The important thing is we are all safe and even if we lose all of our belongings, it is just stuff."

Let us all pray the Word of God:
"I will fear no evil: for thou art with me."
I thank God for the peace that passeth all understanding.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
Amen.

Here is the latest update from the Gibsons in San Antonio until they can return home.

Hey,
Well we are still in San Antonio which looks to be extending day by day, we are now referring to this time away as our hurrication, no it is not a vacation. We did take the kids tubing down the Guadalupe River yesterday to get them out of the ear of the news. It was a fun time together.

As of right now, we are being told it could be 2-4 weeks before we receive power and water in our area. We are being told that we most likely have roof, fence and tree damage but it does not look like we had any flooding. My studio is on the water side in Kemah so we still do not know the extent of the damage there but are expecting a total loss since it is still underwater, we do not know for sure if we got water in the studio we are up a little higher than most buildings so we are hoping for the best there.

We are all fairing pretty well but we are ready to go home but we are being told not to come home yet since many rescues are still in place due to those who did not heed the mandatory evacuation and now are having to be rescued. So we will continue to update on this blog, feel free to pass this on, we love you guys and appreciate and need all of your prayers!
